Geothermal Open & Closed Loop Systems

Environmental Pool Systems Geothermal Open Closed Loop SystemsEnvironmental Pool Systems, Inc. (EPS) has been building a diverse line of DRY-AIR Geothermal Dehumidification Systems since 1987. EPS patented the DE Series for these applications a number of years ago.

We've recently added the new Water Reheat (WR) Series to the DRY-AIR Geothermal Indoor Pool Dehumidifier product line. A typical air cooled WR series DRY-AIR pool dehumidifier uses a coaxial water cooled condenser piped to a hot water coil in the supply air duct. This eliminates, from the refrigeration system, a reversing valve, a hot gas diverter valve, secondary hot gas reheat air coil, control relays, refrigerant check valves and a good deal of refrigerant piping. In testing it was found that pool dehumidification systems run considerably lower head pressures, colder evaporators, and 16-21% higher latent capacities and will result in a much reduced service factor and reduced maintenance costs. The newly added back end proprietary DDC AP010 controller connected to a proportional modulating 3-way valve distributes reclaimed heat to the space reheat coil and pool water simultaneously.

The geothermal systems utilize well (ground) water or a series of loops (earth loops, horizontal or vertical) for complete operation. With geothermal as first stage heating, second stage heating can be electric, gas, propane, or hot water coil. These systems are highly efficient green machines, do not burn fossil fuel, are cleaner, and are less expensive to install and maintain. They require one piece of equipment to provide the complete dehumidification and environmental control for your indoor pool.

EPS Geothermal Pool System InstallationUntil recently, there were only state and local incentives for residential and commercial geothermal applications. Today there are a variety of tax credits and additional incentives to utilize geothermal in residential and commercial projects. Not all EPS DRY-AIR Geothermal Systems offer these Tax Credits. However, due to the lower up front equipment costs, installation costs, and high operating efficiencies, choosing geothermal for your project is very beneficial. Any size system can be built as a geothermal system. All information is subject to change without notice.

All PB-XT product lines have been discontinued and are no longer included in our website.  Please call EPS directly if you have an existing quotation for this series.
