Dry-Air Products

At EPS, we pride ourselves on a solution driven and diverse pool dehumidifier product line that is custom built to specifications.  Specializing in indoor swimming pools for over 25 years, we build more than 64 different pool dehumidification applications to control humidity at any evaporation load and temperature settings, accommodating any size project from a small residential spa to an indoor lap pool to a large water park.  Each system provides carefully chosen components for energy efficiency, long  life span, less maintenance,  are  'green machines' with the least amount of refrigerant in any pool dehumidifier, and offers 3-4 Row field cleanable evaporator coils.

products1EPS addresses and provides solutions for problems such as:

  • waste ventilation systems (exhaust fan, outside air systems)
  • underestimation or overestimation of evaporation resulting in under and over-sized equipment
  • systems that do not  fit through standard doorways
  • complicated systems & controls that are difficult to install and service
  • systems with 8 Row Evaporator Coils
  • dehumidifiers with excessive amount of refrigerant/ton
  • retrofitting existing buildings or replacement systems

Our design offers a much smaller footprint than Dectron™ (Dry-o-Tron®), PoolPak™, Desert Aire™, DCA™, Nautica™, and Dry-Aire™.

All Dry-Air Dehumidifiers are liquid source based machines. They come standard with built-in oversized water cooled condensers. Maintenance is drastically reduced since all refrigeration components are confined to interior mechanical areas.

Dual Compressor-Dual Circuited

This outstanding feature is standard on all 6 ton and larger systems. Short cycling is reduced while efficiencies are increased due to staging capabilities. This design also provides redundancy. If there is a compressor failure, the system continues to operate at 50% capacity.

Dry-Air 12 Ton UnitWater Reheat Series (WR)

Although EPS will continue to build the complete dehumidification product line with hot gas reheat option; hot water reheat affords a myriad of advantages. A typical air cooled WR series DRY-AIR unit uses a coaxial water cooled condenser piped to a hot water coil in the supply air duct. This eliminates, from the refrigeration system, a reversing valve, a hot gas diverter valve, secondary hot gas reheat air coil, control relays, refrigerant check valves and a good deal of refrigerant piping.

In testing it was found the pool dehumidification systems run considerably lower head pressures, colder evaporators, and 16-21% higher latent capacities and will result in a much reduced service factor and reduced maintenance costs. The newly added back end proprietary DDC AP010 controller connected to a proportional modulating 3-way valve distributes reclaimed heat to the space reheat coil and pool water simultaneously.

HGR - Triple Function Precision

The Perfect Balance HGR Series will reclaim 100% of all potentially wasted BTU'S. In the dehumidification mode, all DRY-AIR triple function units reclaim the latent heat; add the compressor heat, rejecting it back to the room and pool simultaneously. As the pool begins to reach its set point, it begins to reject some of the excess heat to outside condenser (or ground loop). EPS builds the only reclaim swimming pool dehumidification system capable of rejecting heat to three external sources simultaneously.

Cleanable Evaporator Coils

Competing manufacturers such as Dectron Dry-o-Tron™, Desert Aire™, DCA, and others continue to build antiquated 8 Row High-Static un-cleanable evaporator coils, causing lower system efficiencies due to extra blower horsepower required to overcome the bundled coil pressure drop. All DRY-AIR systems are built with 3-4 Row field cleanable evaporator coils.

Secondary Isolation Heat Exchangers

Standard on all DRY-AIR Dehumidifiers, this standard feature isolates the aggressive pool and spa water from the water-to-freon exchangers in the refrigeration circuit. This very significant feature eliminates costly failures of standard copper exchangers causing water to flood the compressor and refrigeration circuit. This condition renders the equipment unsalvageable. The DRY-AIR secondary isolation plate heat exchanger guarantees 100% dual protection against pool water or system contamination.

Secondary Coolant Refrigeration Technology for A/C

EPS introduced integrated, secondary coolant refrigeration systems in 1989. Simply stated, our secondary coolant systems are environmentally sound ("green acceptance") and are automatic code compliant.  By using Fluid Cooler or Cooling Tower technology the additional benefits include:

  • Reduced refrigeration system complexity
  • Lower system installation and annual maintenance costs
  • Increased annual energy savings
  • Significantly reduced refrigerant charges
  • Improved product quality
