Lighting the Pool Room

Environmental Pool Systems recommends that all lighting in a pool environment be:

1. SURFACE MOUNTED
2. NON-CORROSIVE

Top Hat or Recessed Can in Can- type lighting is not recommended in a swimming pool area for the following reasons:

1. When recessed cans are installed, they “punch” holes in the installed vapor barrier, now defeating the purpose of the barrier that helps prevent moisture migration into the ceiling area. (Review “VAPOR BARRIER”)

2. Moisture can migrate up into and around the cans and migrate into areas it should not go.
