ENGINEERING DRY-AIR SYSTEMS

Getting "BACK to BASICS" in the design and engineering of the DRY-AIR Heat Recovery Packaged Dehumidifiers was a result of input from architects, engineers and mechanical contracting firms. DRY-AIR has become the preferred choice of architects, engineers, mechanical firms, and owners all over the country, because we have solved these problems:

LET'S TALK FOOTPRINT!
CENTERPOINTE MARRIOTT HOTEL
Dry-Air Unit
DRY-AIR DAP150-12 TON
Height:59", Width:32", Depth:40"
Mechanical Space: 11x6 feet
  • Problems with Waste Ventilation Systems
  • Oversized equipment that had to be brought in by crane
  • Equipment that utilized a great deal of space
  • Difficulty installing and servicing complicated equipment and controls
  • 8 Row Evaporator Coils—that once dirty, cannot be cleaned
  • Equipment that simply wasn't holding up or performing to expectations and specifications.

At EPS, we pride ourselves on a solution driven and diverse product line that is custom built to specifications for each project. You have several options available to you: Each option provides the smallest footprint, the lowest refrigerant charge per ton, and cleanable 4 Row Evaporator Coils.

The DRY-AIR Dehumidifiers are a single packaged component containing the compressor, air handler, air coils, and water to refrigerant coils. The unit is generally coupled to an inline duct heater, electric heating module, steam or hot water coil for room heating and a secondary stainless steel pool water heat exchanger. The units feature a built-in full capacity water-to refrigerant condensing coil for pool heat. Our design makes installation much easier than conventional systems. Our smaller footprint and built-in standard oversized water cooled condensers make it extremely simple and easy to install. All DRY-AIR dehumidifiers will fit through a 36" door frame. Maintenance is drastically reduced since all refrigeration components are confined to interior mechanical areas.

STAINLESS STEEL PRODUCT LINE

DRY-AIR HGR Triple Function Stainless Steel Packaged Dehumidifiers in 1-12 Tons for residential and small commercial projects, ETL Listed, CAN/CSA Certified, Meet BP Green Criteria Code, and carries the Energy Star Label. Coils are epoxy coated. GALVA-LUME AND G-90 PRODUCT LINE

EC/ES & MC ARE NEW YORK CITY VENDOR APPROVED.

DRY-AIR HGR-EC/ES Triple Function Systems Packaged Dehumidifiers in 1-30 Tons for medium to large commercial projects (1-6 Tons in Galva-Lume, 8-25 Tons in G-90 Galvanized – both highly resistant to chlorine environments), UL Listed, CAN/CSA Certified. Coils are epoxy coated.

DRY-AIR HGR-MC Triple Function Systems from 30-60 Ton Modular unit in G-90 Galvanized for large commercial projects, schools, community centers, water parks, etc. UL Listed, CAN/CSA Certified, Quad compressors-quad circuited, and the smallest footprint in the industry. The 60 ton unit comes in 6 easily assembled bolt together sections, NO refrigeration piping is necessary and can fit through a 36" door. Less Complicated, Easily Installed, Service Friendly - DRY-AIR Dehumidifiers are a "BACK TO BASICS" system. We've gone back to easily read and serviced controls. They are simple, less complicated to install (reducing installation costs and time) and easily serviced by any mechanical contractor. When the mechanical firm completes the installation, the owner can easily understand and operate his/her system. They are extremely reliable and built for the long haul! EM Series & MB Series is NYC Vendor Approved.

And, with the cost of square footage today for commercial and residential buildings, less and less mechanical space is being allocated. EPS has solved this problem by designing units small enough to be located within a building's mechanical space, and MINIMUM space is required. This alleviates the high cost of maintenance and downtime for rooftop equipment.

FEATURES OF DRY-AIR DEHUMIDIFIERS

NEW HGR TRIPLE FUNCTION DRY-AIR DEHUMIDIFIERS – The new HGR Series will reclaim 100% of all potentially wasted BTU'S. In the dehumidification mode, all DRY-AIR triple function units reclaim the latent heat, adds the compressor heat, rejecting it back to the room and pool simultaneously. As the pool begins to reach its set point, it begins to reject some of the excess heat to outside condenser. The only reclaim swimming pool dehumidification system capable of rejecting heat to three external source simultaneously.

CLEANABLE EVAPORATOR COILS

This feature continues to be one of the most talked about throughout the industry. Most reclaim dehumidifiers use 6 and 8 row evaporator coils. Manufacturers and HVAC professionals are keenly aware of the difficulties related to cleaning and servicing these coils. Most licensed contractors state, a dirty 8 Row Wet Evaporator Coil is impossible to clean. The next step would be to replace the coils, a very expensive process that would need to be done several times over the lifespan of the equipment.

LIQUID SOURCE DESIGN

All Dry-Air Dehumidifiers are liquid source based machines. They come standard with built in oversized water cooled condensers. EPS offers a complete line of DRY-AIR GEOTHERMAL products, which incorporates geothermal technology and efficiencies.

DUAL COMPRESSOR– DUAL CIRCUITED

This outstanding feature is standard on larger DRY-AIR Dehumidifiers starting at 6 tons. Short cycling is reduced while efficiencies are increased due to staging capabilities. This design also provides redundancy. If there is a compressor failure, the system will continue to operate at 50% capacity.

100% Pool Water Heating or Pool Water Heating on Reclaim Basis – With 100% Pool Heating Option – no pool heater or boiler is necessary. This feature works well with DRY-AIR Geothermal Systems. Pool Heat Reclaim provides for all excess heat to be transferred to the pool to help keep it up to temperature. A pool heater is required with the reclaim option.

SECONDARY ISOLATION HEAT EXCHANGERS

This is an outstanding feature that is standard on all DRY-AIR Dehumidifiers. This feature isolates the aggressive pool and spa water from the water-to-freon exchangers in the refrigeration circuit. This very significant feature eliminates costly failures of standard copper exchangers causing water to flood the compressor and refrigeration circuit. This condition renders the equipment unsalvageable. The DRY-AIR secondary isolation plate heat exchanger guarantees 100% dual protection against pool water or system contamination.

SECONDARY COOLANT REFRIGERATION TECHNOLOGY- A/C

EPS, Inc. introduced integrated, secondary coolant refrigeration systems in 1989. Simply stated, secondary coolant systems will provide:

  • Reduced refrigeration system complexity
  • Lower system installed costs
  • Lower annual maintenance costs
  • Annual Energy Savings
  • Significant reduction in refrigerant charge
  • Improved product quality
  • Automatic Code Compliance
  • Environmentally Sound – "Green" Acceptance

OUTDOOR FLUID COOLERS (CONDENSING UNITS) – Our design using secondary coolant refrigeration technology is an outstanding feature on all DRY-AIR Dehumidification systems. This design eliminates the need or the installing contractor to invade the refrigeration circuit when using our outdoor condensing package. It also does not limit the distance between the DRY-AIR Dehumidifier and the outdoor condensing package. In commercial buildings that utilize a boiler/cooling tower application, we can tie into the loop and an outdoor condenser is not necessary.
